Getting to know your Maulers Player #15 Mike McDaniel Get to know your Maulers Player #15: Mike McDaniel (Credit to Missoula Maulers) Welcome back to another Meet your Maulers! This week you will be introduced to goalie #30 Mike McDaniel. Mike is 5 ft 11 in, 160 lb, is from Great Falls, Montana, USA, and is a '93. I was very impressed with his style of play in the Mauler's Home Opener against the Seattle Totems. He is very consistent with his glove catches and is very thorough with with his butterflys. He completed a shut out on the first night and it was well deserved. Mike is a very hard worker inside the net and uses all the ice time he gets to his full advantage. He is very attentive in the cage and relies not only on his wit but his high hockey IQ, team mates, and ability to determine where the puck is headed at the right time. I also think that he will be a great asset to the goaltending department of this team because he has certain skills that
Getting to know your Maulers Player #14 Josh Ingram-Rehm Get to know your Maulers Player #14: Josh Ingram-Rehm (Credit to Missoula Maulers) Welcome back to another Meet your Maulers! In this blog you will get to meet forward #17 Josh Ingram-Rehm! Josh is 5 ft 9 in, 190 lbs, is from Spokane, Washington, USA, and is a '93. I am unsure of where he played for the 2012-2013 season. Josh is definitely a player to watch out for this season in the WSHL. He is a very stable forward and is great at protecting the puck. He is a very tough and brings a great physical element out onto the ice. Josh is one of those players that you need on the team to make stuff happen. He helps plays advance as well as getting a couple shots on the opposing tendy. Josh is definitely one of the guys on the team that will help the team progress in the season just for the fact that he can assist his team mates, makes plays, and make sure games move along in the order that the
Getting to know your Maulers Player #13 Edward Pollon  Get to know your Maulers Player #13: Edward Pollon (Credit to Missoula Maulers) Welcome back to another blog of Biscuits and Breezers! This Meet your Maulers, you will be introduced to forward #23 Edward Pollon! Edward is 5 ft 10 in, 155 lbs,  from Woodinville, Washington, USA, and is a '97. I am not sure where he played last season unfortunately but it appears to be Team Seattle. I am very thrilled that Pollon is in Missoula this year because he is a very skilled player and is great with the biscuit. He has silky mitts and fantastic on ice vision. He almost always knows where his team mates are and where the puck is. He has very good techniques during his shifts and is a very fluid player. His passes are tape-to-tape and his skates are very quick. I like to watch Edward out on the ice during games because he almost always performs the plays correctly and just overall solid on the ice. He connects well w
#76 Biscuits and Breezers        Welcome back to another blog of Biscuits and Breezers! I thought I would break up the Meet your Maulers interviews and give something to my other viewers because you all are amazing and you want to hear the current news! In this blog we will be talking about the NHL statistics, AWHL statistics, Crosby to outfit 1,000 kids with hockey gear, Kronwall's concussion, and Jacob Trouba's neck injury. There will be no player reviews in this blog so that we can fit in more headlines! First off we are starting with Crosby. This winter, star forward Sidney Crosby will outfit 1000 Pittsburgh area children in full hockey gear. On the 15th of this month, Sid and the Penguins announced that Little Penguins 'Learn to Play Hockey' is being renewed for it's 6th season. This organization is set up to introduce both girls and boy ages 4-8 to the greatest sport on Earth. Each participant will receive everything from skates to helm
Getting to know your Maulers Player #12 Cody Janzen Get to know your Maulers Player #12: Cody Janzen (Credit to Missoula Maulers) Welcome back to another Meet your Maulers! In this blog you will get to meet tendy #31 Cody Janzen! Cody is 6 ft 0 in, 165 lbs, is from Wymark, Saskatchewan, Canada, and is a '96. He played for the Maulers in the 2012-2013 season when they were still in the AWHL. During that season he had 3.30 goals against average in 22 games played, and a .904 save percentage. Unfortunately, we weren't able to see much of Cody last year due to a concussion and lower body injuries but hopefully we will this year! Janzen is one of the players I have contact with the most on the team and I was quite excited to interview him before the Maulers' Home Opener! He is great in the cage and has great butterflies as well as glove catches. He is very attentive to the plays ongoing in front of him and seems to thrive in high stress situations. He
Getting to know your Maulers Player #11 Austin "Auzzie" Auzzinnaro Get to know your Maulers Player #11: Austin "Auzzie" Auzzinnaro (Credit to Missoula Maulers) Welcome back to another Meet your Maulers! This time we get to meet defenseman #25 Austin "Auzzie" Auzzinnaro! Auzzie is 6 ft 0 inm 175 lbs, and is from Spokane Valley, Washington, USA, and is a '96. In the 2012-2013 season he played with Team Compete U-17. Austin was the first one I decided to test out the new questions on, partially by his choice, and it went very well! He is a very sturdy and dependent defenseman who you would put out on the ice to get things done. Whether that be to score goals, assist goals, take out a few dirty players here and there, or try and manage to save a shift that has gone completely awry. He is basically the complete package that you would want in a blue liner. Now I haven't seen him fight yet but when he does I am fairly cer
Scandinavian Hockey Consulting Blog Biscuits and Breezers:  Scandinavian Hockey Consulting Interview       Welcome back to another blog of Biscuits and Breezers! I recently had the great opportunity to chat with Co-Owner/Consultant Daniel Ljung and  Swedish Regional scout Pelle Bergsten. They are a great company for players looking to come to North America to play as well as give a chance to players and fit them with the necessities to succeed. They have not only helped hopeful players but they have helped me as well by promoting Biscuits and Breezers. First I will have Ljung's interview then Bergsten. I hope you all enjoy this and make sure to check out their website  www.scandhock.com  and if you are a player in need of help definitely contact them! They are a great company to work with!  (Credit to Scandinavian Hockey Consulting)         Daniel Ljung's Interview: 1. What is your favorite part of the job?  Ljung: To interact with pl
Getting to know your Maulers Player #10 Connor McNally Get to know your Maulers Player #10: Connor McNally (Credit to jpsphotos.net) Welcome back to another Meet your Maulers! In this article you will get to meet forward #22 Connor McNally! Suggested by Auzzie Auzzinnaro, it was time to switch the questions up and I agreed 100%! I actually tested out the new questions with Auzzie and it went over well and so I decided to interview Connor with the same set. McNally is 6 ft 0 in, 180 lbs, is from Wayne, Pennsylvania, USA, and is a '94. He played for the Maulers in the 2012-2013 when they were still in the AWHL. In that season he had 1 goal in 40 games played, 6 assists, 7 TPs, 61 PIMs, and a +/- of -4. I am very excited that Connor is back because he was such a huge force last year and so far he is this year as well. Not only does he have strong scoring capabilities, but his physical play is outstanding! If there was an opposing player and he saw McNal
Getting to know your Maulers Player #9 Henrik Ekestahl Get to know a Mauler Player #9: Henrik Ekestahl (Credit to Missoula Maulers) Welcome back to another Meet your Maulers! This time we are getting to know defenseman #12 Henrik Ekestahl. Henrik is 5 ft 9 in, 176 lbs, and is from Umea, Sweden. In the 2012-2013 season he played with Bjorkloven J20. He recorded 3 goals in 23 games played, 5 assists, 8 TPs, 24 PIMs, and a +/- of 11. I am a huge fan of defenseman and when I watched the Maulers vs. Totems series, I was specifically watching the blue liners. I am certainly glad I was watching Henrik because man this guy can play! He is very good with the physical aspect of but I think his strong point would be the technical side. Henrik has a very strong clapper and has soft hands with the puck. He can flick the puck very smoothly for some sick sauce. He isn't afraid of any oncoming attackers and seems to be threatened by no one. Sturdy defenseman and all aroun
Getting to know your Maulers Player #8 Josh Chamberlain Get to know a Mauler Player #8: Josh Chamberlain (Credit to Missoula Maulers) Welcome back to another Meet your Maulers! The next Mauler is forward #11 Josh Chamberlain! I had the great pleasure of meeting with Josh at Glacier Ice Rink the day before the home opener and it was awesome to get to know him a little bit! He is 6 ft 4 in, 170 lbs, from Spokane, Washington, USA, and is a '97. For the 2012-2013 season he played for Team Compete U-17. I think that Josh will be a very good addition to the Maulers' roster for his overall scoring abilities. He has great puck handling skills and that really shows it in times of need. Watching him play in both games this weekend, I saw that he works very well with his team mates and has great skates. When he is out on shifts he knows exactly what to go and where to find the puck. I love that he is playing with his brother Matt this year not only because broth
Maulers Sweep Biscuits and Breezers "Game Request"     Recently, it was requested that I write about the Maulers games I attended this weekend by none other than beast goaltender and Canadian superstar Cody Janzen! Well what can I say to perfectly describe this weekend? Bring out your brooms ladies and gentleman because the Seattle Totems have been swept! I absolutely loved the atmosphere of the rink and all of the energy that went along with it! The fans were incredible and the players were even better. When the boys came out of the locker room and down the stairs I got goose bumps no joke. They were in the zone and were prepared for battle. I saw a lot of sick plays as well as players stepping up and taking charge. The rookies on this team definitely stood up and explained why they needed to be on the team. On Friday, this was the season opener for Zoo Town. It was action packed and full of bone-rattling hits! Rookie goalie Michael McDaniel was in betw
