Biscuits and Breezers

Welcome back to another blog of Biscuits and Breezers! I have another College Spotlight player for you today and this time it is Unviersity of Wisconsin - Eau Claire forward Colton Wolter!

Biscuits and Breezers' College Spotlight Player:
Colton Wolter

Height: 6 ft 0 in
Weight: 190 lbs
Hometown: Fairbanks, Alaska, USA

Starting his freshman year at UW-Eau Claire, Wolter can boast being a reigning NAHL Robertson Cup champion, but as we all know, junior hockey and college hockey are on completely different pages. Colton, however, is going into his first year of college puck full steam ahead. Wolter checked out of last season with 51 goals in 58 games played and a whopping 102 PIMs. Colton is an outstanding player and plays an excellent game. He is the type of forward that, when he has the puck, you are on the edge of your seat because you know the lamp will be going off shortly. He plays a very big game and is always full force. Every play is executed at 100% or it isn't executed at all. He gives everything he has to the logo on the front of his jersey. He has wicked puck handling skills and can break through any defensive line ready to either get the puck in the five hole or set one of his team mates up for a sweet top cheese geno. Colton is not an extreme mucker but when things need to get done, he will step up and help out his team any way he can. Colton will work the boards, he will throw in some huge checks here and there, and he will drop the mitts any time it is needed. He can absolutely rocket around the ice and has incredible on ice vision. Nothing gets past Colton Wolter. The player that comes to mind first when thinking of a skater who Colton resembles would be Chicago Blackhawks left wing Patrick Sharp without a doubt. Both have a finesse for scoring and both bring their best games to the ice every night. Both are willing to put in some elbow grease to bring home the W's and both look out for their team mates. All of his skills will definitely transfer over to accommodate the style of college hockey but the real thing that will push him ahead of the pack is his ever changing game. Wolter has a base game just like every player, but depending on the players and teams he goes up against, you really never know what to expect. One night he could bring an immense physical game with a goal or assist here and there, picking off pylons and benders, but the next night he could bring out a game that is goal after goal after goal. That is Colton's key to success. We have all heard the term, "Expect the unexpected" at least once in our lives but when you are playing against Colton Wolter you have to be on guard at all times because to expect the unexpected you would have to expect every possible style of game coming at you all at once. That's also a reason why he was assistant captain of one of the most successful NAHL teams for two seasons in a row. Colton, in my opinion, will be a great college hockey player and has an incredibly bright future in the sport. Wolter is an absolutely amazing skater.

Best of luck Colton with University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire!

Jamie Zaleski Biscuits and Breezers    Welcome back to another blog of Biscuits and Breezers! Today you will be able to meet and get to know FHL Danville Dashers center Jamie Zaleski a little bit better. You don't come across a player very often that is so passionate about the sport that he takes immense pride in every game he plays or every time he represents his team, but today I believe I was able to talk to one of those chosen few. Jamie is an amazing player who beams passion and talent every time he walks onto the ice for a game and when you see him play, I guarantee that by the end of the game you will be as stunned as I was when I first watched a Dashers game. Zaleski is the perfect player seeing that he has the ideal combinations of aggressive and physical plays, speed, and can score whenever it needs be. I have seen some pretty aggressive players in my time but Jamie Zaleski is the definition of aggression out on the ice. His hits are almost alway...
#3 Biscuits and Breezers Welcome back to Biscuits and Breezers! In this blog, we will be discussing the Washington vs. New York series and the St. Louis vs. Los Angeles series. Starting off with the Washington vs. New York series. With the series now tied at 2-2, Washington Capital’s Captain Alexander Ovechkin and the rest of the Capitals seemed very pleased with the Game 4 win of 3-2. The Rangers are becoming more and more frustrated with the way the series took a turn after Game 3 when the game went into triple overtime, Rangers winning with a goal from Marian Gaborik at 14:41 in the tiring overtime. He made a goal past Capital’s goalie Braden Holtby with a wrist shot of 13 feet. The goal was assisted by Brad Richards and Daniel Giardi.   In Game 4 the Capitals had goals from Captain Alexander Ovechkin; center Nicklas Backstrom, and defenseman Mike Green. Green had previously been out 50 games with a right ankle injury and then an abdominal injury that required surgery. The ...
Aurora University Biscuits and Breezers   Welcome back to another blog of Biscuits and Breezers! This article is a continuation of the College Spotlight reviews and this time I will be featuring Aurora University freshman forward Robby (Robert) Gervino! Biscuits and Breezers' College Spotlight Player: Robert Gervino Height: 5 ft 11 in Weight: 180 lbs Hometown: Homer Glen, Illinois, USA When Robert Gervino gets to the rink for game day, it's game face on and head held high, because Gervino knows he will be putting in the best ice minutes he possibly can. When looking at Gervino on the ice or off, that is one of the qualities that becomes most prominent; confidence. He is the type of player who is not afraid to break out of the box and forge his own path. If he wants to play tremendously physical one night and he decides to take on the sniper's role the next, then that is what will happen. Robert defines his own terms and his ow...
