Biscuits and Breezers

Welcome back to another blog of Biscuits and Breezers! This article is a continuation of the College Spotlight reviews and this time I will be featuring Aurora University freshman forward Robby (Robert) Gervino!

Biscuits and Breezers' College Spotlight Player:
Robert Gervino

Height: 5 ft 11 in
Weight: 180 lbs
Hometown: Homer Glen, Illinois, USA

When Robert Gervino gets to the rink for game day, it's game face on and head held high, because Gervino knows he will be putting in the best ice minutes he possibly can. When looking at Gervino on the ice or off, that is one of the qualities that becomes most prominent; confidence. He is the type of player who is not afraid to break out of the box and forge his own path. If he wants to play tremendously physical one night and he decides to take on the sniper's role the next, then that is what will happen. Robert defines his own terms and his own form but still stays within the lines predetermined by the sport. He would be great to have on any roster due to his ability to play a very unique and creative game. A lot of times, you will find that players are either stuck in their position's description or they play very wide spread. With Gervino, he will pair his coach's orders with a style that twists and turns while maintaining a very strong and defined base. To go along with that, Robby can change the way he is performing on a dime. He can have incredibly silky mitts with the biscuit one minute, and two seconds later, he can be throwing bodies and taking on a huge physical performance.  I personally believe that any hockey player and their showing during matches can be compared to a specific animal in order to show the best qualities of their games, and for Gervino, the first animal that comes to mind would be the tiger. One minute he can be working on his own looking solely towards the win and then the next he can play with an immense amount of aggression and is a force to be reckoned with. Once he gets in the mindset that a play needs to happen immediately or that he needs to stand and defend his team, there is absolutely no stopping him whatsoever. In my opinion, Robby will be great for college hockey due to his high ambition and perseverance levels. If Gervino wants to walk back to the locker room with the win or he wants to make it all the way to the final round of Nationals, there is no way you are going to be able to persuade him off that train of thought and it's a pretty safe bet he isn't going down without a well fought battle. In the style of ending these College reviews, Gervino's NHL comparison would be, in my opinion, the New York Islanders' John Tavares. Both have a very a colorful diverse game but still maintain an edge that everyone in the rink can pick up on. He keeps players on their toes and fans on the edges of their seats. Best of luck Robby (Robert) with Aurora University and the rest of your hockey career!

Jamie Zaleski Biscuits and Breezers    Welcome back to another blog of Biscuits and Breezers! Today you will be able to meet and get to know FHL Danville Dashers center Jamie Zaleski a little bit better. You don't come across a player very often that is so passionate about the sport that he takes immense pride in every game he plays or every time he represents his team, but today I believe I was able to talk to one of those chosen few. Jamie is an amazing player who beams passion and talent every time he walks onto the ice for a game and when you see him play, I guarantee that by the end of the game you will be as stunned as I was when I first watched a Dashers game. Zaleski is the perfect player seeing that he has the ideal combinations of aggressive and physical plays, speed, and can score whenever it needs be. I have seen some pretty aggressive players in my time but Jamie Zaleski is the definition of aggression out on the ice. His hits are almost alway...
#3 Biscuits and Breezers Welcome back to Biscuits and Breezers! In this blog, we will be discussing the Washington vs. New York series and the St. Louis vs. Los Angeles series. Starting off with the Washington vs. New York series. With the series now tied at 2-2, Washington Capital’s Captain Alexander Ovechkin and the rest of the Capitals seemed very pleased with the Game 4 win of 3-2. The Rangers are becoming more and more frustrated with the way the series took a turn after Game 3 when the game went into triple overtime, Rangers winning with a goal from Marian Gaborik at 14:41 in the tiring overtime. He made a goal past Capital’s goalie Braden Holtby with a wrist shot of 13 feet. The goal was assisted by Brad Richards and Daniel Giardi.   In Game 4 the Capitals had goals from Captain Alexander Ovechkin; center Nicklas Backstrom, and defenseman Mike Green. Green had previously been out 50 games with a right ankle injury and then an abdominal injury that required surgery. The ...
