Midland University is going into it's first season with a men's hockey team, and for skaters, McConnell is one of the best forwards they could've chosen to start things off with a bang. McConnell has speed, he has ambition, he has talent, and he will rise to the top of any organization he plays with. He may not be a top scorer but you can almost guarantee that he will be one of, it not the top, hardest workers on the ice at any given time. Taylor will go to any length for his team and he will make sure everything he does on his ice time will benefit the team in as many ways a possible. He has wicked fast skates and incredible on-ice vision but McConnell is there for his team all the way to the very last second. He is the type of player that carries his team on his back and gives endless support until his team is either in the championship or starting to train for next season. Taylor sees every aspect of the game crystal clear and puts every piece in it's place to be able to gather up as many wins as possible. He will be great for Midland because he is the type of player that grows an organization. He is constantly pushing his team to play to the best of their ability and to stay at a 100% effort level. The way McConnell plays is glory through grit and unrelenting determination. Taylor will score when he is needed, but you can definitely tell that he is more suited to rushing the puck, getting it to his team mates, or working the boards. He is absolutely a great addition to any college roster because he does not crack under any pressure. If I were to personally compare him to an NHL player, I would have to say the first player that comes to mind would be Henrik Zetterberg of the Detroit Red Wings. I say this mainly for the fact that if anything goes wrong or shifts aren't executed the way they were intended, you know both players will be there immediately to fix the issue and turn things around as quickly and as efficiently as they can. Both are incredibly strong skaters in all aspects of the game. All in all, Taylor is a supporting base and a building block that is needed on every successful hockey team. I want wish Taylor the best of luck with Midland and the rest of his college hockey career!
Best of luck Taylor with Midland University!
