Next up we have Cary Price! As we all know, Carey Price is the prize and star of the vastly growing Montreal Canadiens. He has been an absolutely amazing goaltender throughout the regular and post seasons and has basically carried the Canadiens through the first and second rounds. But unexpectedly, a major blow hit Montreal force on May 18th. Price will be out for the rest of the Eastern Conference Finals after sustaining a knee injury in Game 1 against the New York Rangers. Chris Kreider of the Rangers, notorious for taking out goaltenders, plowed feet first into Carey in the second period. This hit has angered many around the league because this isn't the first time Kreider has targeted key goaltenders. Carey's absence could even possibly extend past the Finals. It was an incredibly tough decision for Coach Therrien on who to put in net between Peter Budaj and Dustin Tokarski and the decision eventually led to Tokarski being placed between the pipes. This announcement was an absolute shock to the Canadiens and to their fan base. With Price now out, this event could possibly change the end outcome of who will move on to the Stanley Cup finals. It is very similar to the first round predicament in Tampa after Montreal swept the Lightning after they lost their starting goaltender Ben Bishop. Best of luck Price, get well soon, and stay strong Montreal!
Lastly we have Sabres forward Zenon Konopka. Zenon has been suspended 20 games after the use and violating the terms of the NHL Perfromance Enhancing Substances Program. Along with the suspension, he will have a mandatory referral to the NHL's Program for Substance Abuse and Behavioral Health for a further evaluation and possible treatment. Concluding at the end of the 2013-2014 season, Konopka became an unrestricted free agent. Apparently Zenon unknowingly took an over the counter banned substance. He told reporters at CBC Sports, "I want to make it clear that this violation occurred because I ingested a product that can be purchased over the counter and which, unknown to me, contained a substance that violated the program. Unfortunately, I did not take the necessary care to ensure that the product did not contain a prohibited substance. I want to stress, however, that I did not take this substance for the purpose of enhancing my athletic performance." The NHL did not provide any further comment. Hopefully this will be resolved soon and won't have an impact on any other players.
Markus is 5 ft 11 in, 185 lbs, and is from Oulu, Finland. He was drafted 45th overall in the 2nd round of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft to the Calgary Flames. In the 2012-2013 season , he had 10 goals in 50 games played, 20 assists, 30 TPs, and 18 PIMs. Markus is a fantastic player due to his stick-handling skills, his support of his team mates, and high level of play every night. Markus, younger brother to Mikael Granlund of the Minnesota Wild, is on a roster where the young guns are building up the franchise and Markus is right in the middle of the storm. He is constantly improving season after season and is pushing the boundaries of what he will do to be the absolute best he can be. Whenever he gets the biscuit, you better stay out of the way because he is going straight to the opposing cage. The 2014-2015 season was his rookie NHL season and he has performed phenomenally so far. He is keep a constant level of proficient playing and is aiding to his team greatly. Granlund will help the team wherever it is needed and will do anything to get the win. He will definitely be a name to keep track of in the show because he is the next era of players. Markus is in the generation of up and coming Finnish players and he won't stop until he is standing on top. Good luck Markus with the Flames and your future hockey career!
Willie is 5 ft 10 in, 185 lbs, and is from Johannesburg, South Africa. In the 2012-2013 season, he had 28 goals in 64 games played, 40 assists, 68 TPs, 22 PIMs, and a +/- of 6. Coetzee is a great player because he balances the physical side of the game so well with the scoring aspect. It is always good to see players like him out on the ice because he takes the "old school" style of play, adds a dash of physicality, and is almost always on point in front of the net to get the biscuit between the pipes. He is very clean on the ice and always out there working as hard as he can. He is a very consistent player that is putting up impressive points on a regular basis and helping build his team while he is at it. Coetzee is a very well rounded player and definitely the type of skater every team needs to perfectly finish off a team. I hope we can see more and more players playing the same type of game Willie does because it adds class to the sport. Good luck Willie with the Griffins and your future hockey career!

2014 Stanley Cup Playoffs Updated:
Western Conference Finals - Chicago Blackhawks vs. LA Kings: Blackhawks lead series 1-0
Eastern Conference Finals - Montreal Canadiens vs. New York Rangers: Rangers lead series 2-0
Welcome back to another blog of Biscuits and Breezers! In this blog we will be talking about Carey Price's potential playoff ending injury, Kris Letang's unknown playoff injuries, and Konopka's 20 game suspension due to prohibited drug usage. Starting off with Kris Letang! After valiantly returning to the ice from suffering a very unexpected stroke, it was released two days ago that the star Penguins defenseman suffered through a broken hand and then a broken foot in the last two games of the Round 2 series versus the New York Rangers. He broke his foot in Game 6 and soon after his hand in Game 7. Letang will not be able to workout for the next 4 weeks as a result. Hopefully he will return to Pittsburgh healthy and roaring to go at the beginning of the 2014-2015 season. There are many trade rumors surrounding Kris at the moment but for now he is safe and sound wearing the black and gold. Get well soon Letang!

Now for the "Players of Today!" For the NHL pick we have Calgary Flames forward Markus Granlund. For the Junior player we have Helena Bighorns forward Matt Mohar. For the "European" pick we have Grand Rapids Griffins forward Willie Coetzee.
Matt is 5 ft 8 in, 158 lbs, and is from Helena, Montana, USA. In the 2013-2014 season, he had 11 goals in 47 games played, 13 assists, 24 TPs, 53 PIMs, and a +/- of 17. I was very impressed with Matt all throughout his seasons with Helena because of his determination, drive, and powerful presence on the ice. You will see players that will go out in games just to score or just to rack up the penalty minutes but Mohar is very different. Matt is the next generation of player coming into the game and he is setting an incredible example of how players need to start playing the game. He is constantly rushing the puck, he is keeping the game fast paced, and is consistently trying to get as many shots on goals as he can. Matt always has the biggest "personality" on the ice and lifts his team mates up as much as he can. His confidence is out of this world and he is always trying to do whatever he can to keep his team on top. I definitely believe that Matt will go very far in hockey mainly for the fact that he is the type of player that will shine through anything. He keeps his team on track through very difficult situations and is a natural leader. He is wickedly tough, he is constantly giving 100% to the logo he proudly represents, and "giving up" is not in his vocabulary. Matt is there for his team until the last second of the last period and is always finding ways to be the best of the best. Keep track of Matt because he is going very far in hockey. Good luck Matt with the Bighorns and your future hockey career!
