Biscuits and Breezers

Welcome back to another blog of Biscuits and Breezers! I have your next  College Spotlight Player and this time it is University of Arizona defenseman Tommy Bennett!

Biscuits and Breezers' College Spotlight Player:
Tommy Bennett

Height: 6 ft 1 in
Weight: 185 lbs
Hometown: Mundlein, IL, USA

Tommy will be a huge asset to U of Arizona this season because he is an absolutely outstanding player. When he was playing juniors for Southern Oregon as well as the Dells Ducks, he was a huge player. His physical game is incredible and he can rattle the boards with no problem. He can score when it is needed and he supports his team 110%. In fact, during his last year of juniors he racked up 118 PIMs along with 13 TPs. He is the type of player that carries his team on his back and will go to the very end for the logo that he proudly represents. Tommy is definitely the type of player that all college teams should want because he plays a very large game paired with huge passion for the sport. He isn't afraid to drop the gloves and is one of the best fighters that I have seen. Bennett is incredibly smart about the game and constantly knows what has to be done to bring home wins every night. He is a very solid player that goes until the very last second ticks off the clock. He played last year with the University of Arizona but I really believe that this will be his break out year. He knows what it takes to be a great college player and if he can pair that with the immense skills he has gained over the years, he will be almost unstoppable. Tommy is great at moving the puck and is always very skilled at getting the puck to his team mates to light the lamp for those very crucial goals. Being a defenseman, he always stands his ground and won't let any opposing players into his zone. His opponents know that when he is on the ice, they will have close to zero chance of scoring that shift. I believe that if Tommy really goes to the furthest extent he can, he will very closely resemble Colorado College defenseman Gustav Olofsson or even more closely Justin Schmaltz from University of North Dakota. Tommy sees the ice very well and plays a great defensive game but at the same time has an incredible offensive way of thinking. Tommy has such a bright future in the sport that he is only going to go up. He is incredibly talented and is a sure shot for the top of the leader board every night.

Best of luck at the University of Arizona Tommy and have an amazing season!

Next College Spotlight Player:
Joey Sundgren (St. Olaf)

Fight of the Year Biscuits and Breezers        Before I move on to anymore news, I wanted to feature a fight that I think should be up for a fight of the year in the WSHL. This scrap was between a beast from Missoula and a goon from Seattle. That's right Austin Azzinnaro and Piers LaFrance battled it out in Missoula's last home game and it was amazing. You should have seen these two go at it! It was a complete yard sale of mitts, twigs, and buckets, and by the time Auzzie was done with the Totem, LaFrance was thrown out of the rink looking like he had just met Ross "The Boss" Rhea from Goon. Azzinnaro was ejected in pure beauty style; waving to the roaring fans, excited as can be, and pumped for another round. It was an absolutely incredible fight and I have never seen a junior fight go down as sweet as that one did. Not to mention this was Austin's first tilly! He is a born fighter and obviously it comes by him naturally because the skills he ha
Jamie Zaleski Biscuits and Breezers    Welcome back to another blog of Biscuits and Breezers! Today you will be able to meet and get to know FHL Danville Dashers center Jamie Zaleski a little bit better. You don't come across a player very often that is so passionate about the sport that he takes immense pride in every game he plays or every time he represents his team, but today I believe I was able to talk to one of those chosen few. Jamie is an amazing player who beams passion and talent every time he walks onto the ice for a game and when you see him play, I guarantee that by the end of the game you will be as stunned as I was when I first watched a Dashers game. Zaleski is the perfect player seeing that he has the ideal combinations of aggressive and physical plays, speed, and can score whenever it needs be. I have seen some pretty aggressive players in my time but Jamie Zaleski is the definition of aggression out on the ice. His hits are almost always cle
