No matter what team you look at, there will always be break out players that headline the entire season, and for the WSHL's Missoula Maulers, that would be without any doubt Alexander Shalamov. Alex is an absolute fire cracker of a player, and to be honest, there is no other description that would justify his playing style. Every movement he makes on the ice is absolutely explosive and never fears to go above and beyond. Alex is 100% a play maker and can perform any move he chooses. Shalamov is the skater that takes mediocre plays and transforms them in to ones that will undoubtedly be found on the highlight reel. Alex has been a star player for the Maulers since day one, and to date, has not looked in the rear view mirror. His season has been full speed ahead with no stops. When dissecting the type of player Alex is, there is no possible way to categorize him as one type of player or another. Shalamov has out of this world puck handling skills, but at the same time, his physical game is spot on. Alex can lit the lamp as if it were second nature and he can definitely throw his opponents around if he feels objected to. He is an incredible asset to any team he is signed with due to his ability to constantly pave a path forward. He does not look back on things gone wrong, he solely focuses on what proved to be the correct way to gain success. When Alex handles the puck, it is absolutely amazing as to what he can achieve in a limited amount of time. By the time he has received the biscuit, you can almost guarantee that he will either make a break away or he will be making sure the lamp will light within seconds. Shalamov can make an entire arena of fans sit on the edges of their seats and hype up an entire barn with only a few stick movements. He is certainly on the WSHL's most talented players this season and is only going to continue to improve. Alex is a very crucial link for any team to have due to his ability to be an unwavering and unbreakable pillar of strength. When his teams needs an extra point or a shove in the right direction, you can expect Alex to be rushing the puck towards the opposing goaltender or getting everyone together in order to make a tremendous push before the clock runs out. Just by watching how he carries himself on the ice, it is visible that he holds himself with a great amount of confidence. Alex is the type of player that youth skaters watch in order to understand how and why you play your best game every game. It is still very incredible how short of a time it takes between Alex receiving the biscuit and the light being lit. Another spectacular feature of Shalamov's game would be his in-depth understanding of the game. It is very evident that Alex has an insanely high hockey IQ and that he is able to get through any situation on the ice with as little difficulty as possible. Shalamov's future in ice hockey is incredibly bright, and if continues on the track that he is on, it is in no doubt that we will see his name on the back of a pro jersey. Best of luck Alex with the Maulers and the rest of your hockey career!

Jamie Zaleski Biscuits and Breezers    Welcome back to another blog of Biscuits and Breezers! Today you will be able to meet and get to know FHL Danville Dashers center Jamie Zaleski a little bit better. You don't come across a player very often that is so passionate about the sport that he takes immense pride in every game he plays or every time he represents his team, but today I believe I was able to talk to one of those chosen few. Jamie is an amazing player who beams passion and talent every time he walks onto the ice for a game and when you see him play, I guarantee that by the end of the game you will be as stunned as I was when I first watched a Dashers game. Zaleski is the perfect player seeing that he has the ideal combinations of aggressive and physical plays, speed, and can score whenever it needs be. I have seen some pretty aggressive players in my time but Jamie Zaleski is the definition of aggression out on the ice. His hits are almost alway...
#3 Biscuits and Breezers Welcome back to Biscuits and Breezers! In this blog, we will be discussing the Washington vs. New York series and the St. Louis vs. Los Angeles series. Starting off with the Washington vs. New York series. With the series now tied at 2-2, Washington Capital’s Captain Alexander Ovechkin and the rest of the Capitals seemed very pleased with the Game 4 win of 3-2. The Rangers are becoming more and more frustrated with the way the series took a turn after Game 3 when the game went into triple overtime, Rangers winning with a goal from Marian Gaborik at 14:41 in the tiring overtime. He made a goal past Capital’s goalie Braden Holtby with a wrist shot of 13 feet. The goal was assisted by Brad Richards and Daniel Giardi.   In Game 4 the Capitals had goals from Captain Alexander Ovechkin; center Nicklas Backstrom, and defenseman Mike Green. Green had previously been out 50 games with a right ankle injury and then an abdominal injury that required surgery. The ...
