Spotlight Player:
Nick Trefry
Nick Trefry
Biscuits and Breezers
Welcome back to another blog for Biscuits and Breezers! In this blog I will be introducing you all to a phenomenal player on roster with the Helena Bighorns of the NA3HL. He has proven to be an out of this world play maker as well as quite the fire cracker of a skater. He has risen to the top ranks of the NA3 and doesn't plan on stopping there. This particular player shows sharp attitude and a winning mentality with his every move. The next Spotlight Player is Helena Bighorns defenseman Nick Trefry!
Nick Trefry - Helena Bighorns (D)
Height: 6 ft 1 in Weight: 190 lbs Hometown: Upland, California, USA 2014-2015 Stats: 12 goals in 32 games played, 22 assists, 34 TPs, +/- of +32, and 24 PIMs
Throughout the 2014-2015 season so far, Nick Trefry has become a very well known name around the city of Helena as well as around the NA3HL and for very good reason. Trefry has been a break out player this season for the Bighorns and continues to blast through the ranks of the NA3 on a non-stop track to an outstanding season. Nick has absolutely set outstanding levels of performance for not only the defenseman in Helena, but as well as for all the entire NA3HL. As he continues to break out and play outside of the box, Trefry has brought a new and very bright light to the position of defenseman. He is continuing to show that blueliners should not only just play defensively. In fact, he has brought great attention to the offensive possibilities defenseman have and should embrace. Yes Trefry will be a homebody blueliner when his team calls for it, but he can compete as well, and sometimes even better, than most forwards. Nick has an incredible ability to whip around any ice sheet and maintain a very fast paced, progressive game. He is the type of player that plays full steam ahead until the end of the game and never lets his guard down. His puck handling skills are very advanced and he has great potential for the higher levels of the sport. Trefry can dangle opposing skaters, he can bring the puck coast to coast, and he can go top shelf with absolute ease. Nick is the type of player every team needs at least two of on roster. He brings a huge game to the ice and is a skater everyone notices immediately. He gains very positive attention for his confidence during any moment in the game as well as his unrelenting ambition to succeed. One can definitely say that Nick is a "fire-cracker skater" due to his talent that allows him to bring the heat on his opponents offensively and pressure them with a major physical game. He brings a tame yet impeccable ferociousness to the ice that gives him a near perfect amount of aggression and calmness. Not only does Nick pack a perfect offensive game, he can absolutely throw bodies and create a brick-wall defense on the turn of a dime. I admire Trefry's game not only because of his in-game performances, but also due to his impeccable leadership skills. Nick is a great example for rookies to mold their own personal games after and is a illustrious leader among his fellow veterans. You don't see many players with Nick's skill level on every junior roster, but fortunately, more and more defenseman are acquiring those key offensive abilities. It is without a doubt that he is leading a trend that is having blueliners play from end zone to end zone and the entire ice sheet in between. Trefry certainly has an incredibly bright future in the sport and is on a fast track to achieving great success! Best of luck Nick with the Bighorns and your future hockey career!

Sounds like one great player, but then I'm bias. He's my great (and I do mean great) nephew.
