Player #17: Tyler Zandhuisen

(Credit to Missoula Maulers)
Welcome back to another Meet your Maulers! In this blog you will be briefly introduced to defenseman #4 Tyler Zandhuisen! Tyler is 6 ft 0 in, 185 lbs, is from Spokane, Washington, USA, and is a "95. He played for the Maulers last season and he had 5 goals in 43 games played, 20 assists, 25 TPs, 47 PIMs, and a +/- of 14. I am very thrilled that he is on the team this year because he is a great blue liner who definitely knows exactly what he is doing out on the ice and is very good at making plays. He was named assistant captain this year and it is well deserved. Even though he is young, he is a strong leader to the rookies as well as all the defenseman. He has quick skates and great puck handling skills. Zandhuisen is always quick to the biscuit if he can be and has great eyes at what goes on during shifts. I am interested in what he will do to help the team this year now that they are in a highly competitive league because when it is needed, he can bring an intense physical game. It doesn't matter if it involves checks or aggressive plays, Tyler can handle it. I can't wait to see how he performs this weekend against the Ogden Mustangs. I had the pleasure of interviewing Z at the rink a couple of days ago along with Pukkila and Sheptytskyy (which will come later of course) but it was great to finally meet up with him. Here is what he had to say!

Jamie Zaleski Biscuits and Breezers    Welcome back to another blog of Biscuits and Breezers! Today you will be able to meet and get to know FHL Danville Dashers center Jamie Zaleski a little bit better. You don't come across a player very often that is so passionate about the sport that he takes immense pride in every game he plays or every time he represents his team, but today I believe I was able to talk to one of those chosen few. Jamie is an amazing player who beams passion and talent every time he walks onto the ice for a game and when you see him play, I guarantee that by the end of the game you will be as stunned as I was when I first watched a Dashers game. Zaleski is the perfect player seeing that he has the ideal combinations of aggressive and physical plays, speed, and can score whenever it needs be. I have seen some pretty aggressive players in my time but Jamie Zaleski is the definition of aggression out on the ice. His hits are almost alway...
#3 Biscuits and Breezers Welcome back to Biscuits and Breezers! In this blog, we will be discussing the Washington vs. New York series and the St. Louis vs. Los Angeles series. Starting off with the Washington vs. New York series. With the series now tied at 2-2, Washington Capital’s Captain Alexander Ovechkin and the rest of the Capitals seemed very pleased with the Game 4 win of 3-2. The Rangers are becoming more and more frustrated with the way the series took a turn after Game 3 when the game went into triple overtime, Rangers winning with a goal from Marian Gaborik at 14:41 in the tiring overtime. He made a goal past Capital’s goalie Braden Holtby with a wrist shot of 13 feet. The goal was assisted by Brad Richards and Daniel Giardi.   In Game 4 the Capitals had goals from Captain Alexander Ovechkin; center Nicklas Backstrom, and defenseman Mike Green. Green had previously been out 50 games with a right ankle injury and then an abdominal injury that required surgery. The ...
