Get to know your Maulers
Player #13: Edward Pollon

(Credit to Missoula Maulers)
Welcome back to another blog of Biscuits and Breezers! This Meet your Maulers, you will be introduced to forward #23 Edward Pollon! Edward is 5 ft 10 in, 155 lbs,  from Woodinville, Washington, USA, and is a '97. I am not sure where he played last season unfortunately but it appears to be Team Seattle. I am very thrilled that Pollon is in Missoula this year because he is a very skilled player and is great with the biscuit. He has silky mitts and fantastic on ice vision. He almost always knows where his team mates are and where the puck is. He has very good techniques during his shifts and is a very fluid player. His passes are tape-to-tape and his skates are very quick. I like to watch Edward out on the ice during games because he almost always performs the plays correctly and just overall solid on the ice. He connects well with his team mates on the ice as well as off and his passion for the game is incredible! Pollon is definitely a crowd pleaser and knows how to get 'em excited. He isn't that much of a physical player yet but I hope we get to see some huge checks soon! Here is Pollon's interview and I hope you enjoy!

1. Why did you decide to join the Maulers this season?

EP: I first heard about the Maulers by Dino Chamberlain. When I came to tryouts, I instantly liked the atmosphere with players and style of play. I honestly love to play the game and the Maulers allow me to play at the highest level I can.

2. What skills on and off the ice do you expect to bring to the team this season?

EP: On the ice, I hope to bring a strong offensive presence and speed to make up for my small stature. Off the ice I expect to bring a dedicated and positive personality whether I'm working out with the team or just playing a heated game of ping pong with my billet brother, Austin Auzzinnaro.

3. What is your favorite pregame meal?

EP: Chicken Alfredo Pasta

4. Favorite NHL team and player

EP: Edmonton Oilers and Ryan Nugent Hopkins

5. What do you enjoy to do when you are not playing hockey?

EP: Hanging out with Joey Porco, Erich Jaeger, and Auzzie. When I'm not doing that, I'm usually either working out with the team, playing ping pong, or just watching Breaking Bad

6. What do you enjoy most about Missoula?
EP: The fact that it's so different from where I've lived for the past 16 years in Seattle. The enviroment is so open here. I also enjoy the fact that I'm meeting so many new people

7. Greatest chirp you have said or been told?

EP: "Hey tendie, I bet if you switched to Geico you'd save more."

8. Best hockey memory?

EP: At the 2011 National Championships, I scored the first goal in our first game on my first shot. That was pretty incredible

9. What is your worst travel experience?

EP: A couple years ago, my team was coming home from a game in Canada in the thick snow when our bus broke down. We had left the rink that night around 7 pm and got home on a Wednesday at roughly 5 am I believe

10. Best dressed?
EP: Joey Porco

11. Worst rink you have ever played in?

EP: There is a rink in Tacoma, Washington that used to be a meat locker. It's very infamous in Seattle

12. Where do you see yourself in hockey in the next 5 years?

EP: At 21 I hope to be playing college hockey somewhere. Anywhere at a division 1 or division 3 level is my main goal in hockey for now

13. Best travel partner?

EP: Josh Chamberlain. He always tells the funniest stories

14. Xavier LaFlamme, Hanson Brothers, or Jack O'Callahan?

EP: Jack O'Callahan

15. Which NHL player would you want to go 1 on 1 with?

EP: Paul Bissonnette

16. What player best embodies the junior lifestyle?

EP: Corey Schafer

17. Is there anything you would like to tell the fans?

EP: I couldn't be more thankful for your support. This game is just as much about the fan support as it is the dedication of the players

18. Which NHL player would you compare yourself to?

EP: Ryan Nugent Hopkins. I try to base my game around speed

19. If you had to be stranded on a desert island with anyone in the world or on the team who would it be?
EP: If I picked anyone in the world, it would be my little brother Thomas. He can make any situation a good one. If I picked someone from the team, it would be my Canadian brother, Cody Janzen.

Not only does he have great style on the ice, he is great to get to know off the ice. It was a great pleasure to get to talk with him and I am excited to watch him this season! Thanks Edward for the interview and good luck with the Maulers!

This is another post for the Spotlight Player series, and the player featured today, is a prime example of the defensive qualities that are capable in blue liners. Trending on an upward slope, this particular player brings fire to the ice as well as quite the chill. He may be an independent skater, but he is almost always his team's biggest supporter in the long run. Jamie Zaleski Biscuits and Breezers    Welcome back to another blog of Biscuits and Breezers! Today you will be able to meet and get to know FHL Danville Dashers center Jamie Zaleski a little bit better. You don't come across a player very often that is so passionate about the sport that he takes immense pride in every game he plays or every time he represents his team, but today I believe I was able to talk to one of those chosen few. Jamie is an amazing player who beams passion and talent every time he walks onto the ice for a game and when you see him play, I guarantee that by the end of the game you will be as stunned as I was when I first watched a Dashers game. Zaleski is the perfect player seeing that he has the ideal combinations of aggressive and physical plays, speed, and can score whenever it needs be. I have seen some pretty aggressive players in my time but Jamie Zaleski is the definition of aggression out on the ice. His hits are almost alway...
#3 Biscuits and Breezers Welcome back to Biscuits and Breezers! In this blog, we will be discussing the Washington vs. New York series and the St. Louis vs. Los Angeles series. Starting off with the Washington vs. New York series. With the series now tied at 2-2, Washington Capital’s Captain Alexander Ovechkin and the rest of the Capitals seemed very pleased with the Game 4 win of 3-2. The Rangers are becoming more and more frustrated with the way the series took a turn after Game 3 when the game went into triple overtime, Rangers winning with a goal from Marian Gaborik at 14:41 in the tiring overtime. He made a goal past Capital’s goalie Braden Holtby with a wrist shot of 13 feet. The goal was assisted by Brad Richards and Daniel Giardi.   In Game 4 the Capitals had goals from Captain Alexander Ovechkin; center Nicklas Backstrom, and defenseman Mike Green. Green had previously been out 50 games with a right ankle injury and then an abdominal injury that required surgery. The ...
