Biscuits and Breezers

Welcome back to another blog of Biscuits and Breezers! I recently attended a junior league practice and I thought since there isn't much going on in the hockey world right now, this might curb your hunger. The practice was for the WSHL team the Missoula Maulers and I know I write about this team quite a bit and I apologize but they are a very good junior team. They have multiple European contracts every year and they are based in town full of skiing and snowboarding. I find the hockey culture very prominent and deep rooted in the community. Now I am not going to go on and on but I would like to highlight some quality players I saw. One would be goaltender Sebastian Gronborg. First things first this guy can flat out play. He has high hockey IQ and is great between the pipes. He knows when to trust them and when to bring in the pads. I sat in the stands and was amazed at how many shots were saved in a practice alone. This wasn't a game or a tournament. It was a practice and he was saving them left and right! He has fantastic butterflies and great glove catches. Gronborg is very attentive to action out on the ice. I sincerely hope he gets the starting goalie spot because he deserves it. I have talked with Sebastian and he is a very hard worker and cares about his team extremely. He resembles, and this is no lie, a young Henrik Lundqvist. There is no exaggeration here. This guy is a beauty in the cage. Can't wait to see him this season. Then we have Corey Schafer. He dominated the ice in 2011-2012 and he is back to do it again. Schafer has unbelievable tape to tape passes and is quick on his feet. He knows how to make the right plays and is a good influence on the rookies. He shows the right qualities you need in junior hockey to succeed and how to win. Corey has a knack for finding the back of the net in most of the games. He appears to have great on ice vision and keeps calm during high stress situations. Previously playing for the Maulers, he should fit right back into the swing of things. If Schafer can team up with old team mates and veterans Anders Nord and Matt Chamberlain they can turn a young team successful. It is good to see some fresh talent to go along with the seasoned faces. Thanks for reading another blog of Biscuits and Breezers! Jamie Zaleski Biscuits and Breezers    Welcome back to another blog of Biscuits and Breezers! Today you will be able to meet and get to know FHL Danville Dashers center Jamie Zaleski a little bit better. You don't come across a player very often that is so passionate about the sport that he takes immense pride in every game he plays or every time he represents his team, but today I believe I was able to talk to one of those chosen few. Jamie is an amazing player who beams passion and talent every time he walks onto the ice for a game and when you see him play, I guarantee that by the end of the game you will be as stunned as I was when I first watched a Dashers game. Zaleski is the perfect player seeing that he has the ideal combinations of aggressive and physical plays, speed, and can score whenever it needs be. I have seen some pretty aggressive players in my time but Jamie Zaleski is the definition of aggression out on the ice. His hits are almost alway...
#3 Biscuits and Breezers Welcome back to Biscuits and Breezers! In this blog, we will be discussing the Washington vs. New York series and the St. Louis vs. Los Angeles series. Starting off with the Washington vs. New York series. With the series now tied at 2-2, Washington Capital’s Captain Alexander Ovechkin and the rest of the Capitals seemed very pleased with the Game 4 win of 3-2. The Rangers are becoming more and more frustrated with the way the series took a turn after Game 3 when the game went into triple overtime, Rangers winning with a goal from Marian Gaborik at 14:41 in the tiring overtime. He made a goal past Capital’s goalie Braden Holtby with a wrist shot of 13 feet. The goal was assisted by Brad Richards and Daniel Giardi.   In Game 4 the Capitals had goals from Captain Alexander Ovechkin; center Nicklas Backstrom, and defenseman Mike Green. Green had previously been out 50 games with a right ankle injury and then an abdominal injury that required surgery. The ...
