Biscuits and Breezers

Welcome back to another blog of Biscuits and Breezers! As you all know, starting with the 2014-2015 season, I will be following 5 or 6 different college programs/players as they make their way through college puck to give you an insight as to what goes on with college hockey. Now before the season starts, I will be reviewing all of the players one by one that will be featured throughout this year. So far, those skaters will be Sebastian Gronborg, Ben Henry, Rob Donovan, and Taylor McConnell out of Midland University, Joey Sundgren at St. Olaf, Tommy Bennett in University of Arizona, and Dax Deadrick and Chance Creger out of Northland College. Starting now I will be introducing you to your first review! (This first player was highly requested so he will have the first review!)

Biscuits and Breezers' College Spotlight Player:
Sebastian Gronborg

Height: 5 ft 9 in
Weight: 165 lbs
Hometown: Nykoping, Sweden

Many of you will recognize the name Sebastian Gronborg seeing as he was very active with the page last season when he was goaltender for the WSHL's Missoula Maulers. I previously stated that Gronborg was set and ready to go as a college goaltender when he started with the Maulers and indeed he is. His large presence on the ice and his constant battle to be the number one goaltender is exactly what college hockey organizations are looking for. They need a goaltender who is confident between the pipes and who will stop at nothing to win. Gronborg was picked up by the newly formed Midland University Men's Hockey team towards the very end of the 2013-2014 season. Seeing as this is a new team, Gronborg will be great to have as he will set the bar very high for future players and goaltenders alike. He finished out the '13-'14 season with a .917 save percentage and 2.3 goals against average. Sebastian is the type of goaltender who fears none and accomplishes a great amount. He always goes out onto the ice with a winning mentality and is out there until his job is done to the best of his ability. Midland University should be very successful going into it's inaugural year in the ACHA (D1) and with Sebastian in the cage, the success rate will go up just that much more. He is very loyal to any team he plays on and now going into a college program, that could be the difference that sees more back to back wins. Gronborg fits the mold of a college goaltender seeing that he is determined to go all the way to the championship round, he never gives up no matter how hard the situation gets, he brings his "A" game every night, and will go through every possible disaster on the ice so that he and his team mates will come out on top. Could he be following in the footsteps of Adam Wilcox up at University of Minnesota?

Best of luck with Midland University and have a phenomenal season Sebastian!

Spotlight Player Emil Travergard       Biscuits and Breezers         Welcome back to another blog for Biscuits and Breezers! This is another post for the Spotlight Player series, and the player featured today, is a prime example of the defensive qualities that are capable in blue liners. Trending on an upward slope, this particular player brings fire to the ice as well as quite the chill. He may be an independent skater, but he is almost always his team's biggest supporter in the long run. The next Spotlight Player is Haninge Anchors defenseman Emil Travergard!     Emil Travergard - Haninge Anchors (D)   Height: 6 ft 2 in  Weight:  215 lbs Hometown: Stockholm, Sweden 2013-2014 Stats: 1 goal in 23 games played, 3 assists, 4 TPs, and 14 PIMs with Hammarby J20         While watching Travergard on the ice during his stay in the WSHL, he certainly brought a spar...
Jamie Zaleski Biscuits and Breezers    Welcome back to another blog of Biscuits and Breezers! Today you will be able to meet and get to know FHL Danville Dashers center Jamie Zaleski a little bit better. You don't come across a player very often that is so passionate about the sport that he takes immense pride in every game he plays or every time he represents his team, but today I believe I was able to talk to one of those chosen few. Jamie is an amazing player who beams passion and talent every time he walks onto the ice for a game and when you see him play, I guarantee that by the end of the game you will be as stunned as I was when I first watched a Dashers game. Zaleski is the perfect player seeing that he has the ideal combinations of aggressive and physical plays, speed, and can score whenever it needs be. I have seen some pretty aggressive players in my time but Jamie Zaleski is the definition of aggression out on the ice. His hits are almost alway...
#3 Biscuits and Breezers Welcome back to Biscuits and Breezers! In this blog, we will be discussing the Washington vs. New York series and the St. Louis vs. Los Angeles series. Starting off with the Washington vs. New York series. With the series now tied at 2-2, Washington Capital’s Captain Alexander Ovechkin and the rest of the Capitals seemed very pleased with the Game 4 win of 3-2. The Rangers are becoming more and more frustrated with the way the series took a turn after Game 3 when the game went into triple overtime, Rangers winning with a goal from Marian Gaborik at 14:41 in the tiring overtime. He made a goal past Capital’s goalie Braden Holtby with a wrist shot of 13 feet. The goal was assisted by Brad Richards and Daniel Giardi.   In Game 4 the Capitals had goals from Captain Alexander Ovechkin; center Nicklas Backstrom, and defenseman Mike Green. Green had previously been out 50 games with a right ankle injury and then an abdominal injury that required surgery. The ...
