Welcome back to another blog for Biscuits and Breezers! This is another post for the Spotlight Player series, and the player featured today, is a prime example of the defensive qualities that are capable in blue liners. Trending on an upward slope, this particular player brings fire to the ice as well as quite the chill. He may be an independent skater, but he is almost always his team's biggest supporter in the long run. The next Spotlight Player is Haninge Anchors defenseman Emil Travergard!

While watching Travergard on the ice during his stay in the WSHL, he certainly brought a spark to the ice that isn't always seen from defensemen. Emil is the type of blueliner that sticks to the roots of the position and embraces the physical aggression that is commonly found within defense. He is not effected by the responses large physical skaters tend to receive and he plays outside of the box as much as he can. Now typically, you don't witness many lone wolf players, but if you have the opportunity to, you will see that many of them are some of the most ferocious players that will step on any ice sheet. Emil is most definitely a lone wolf, but when it truly matters, he is his team's biggest and strongest supporter. Travergard is a phenomenal defenseman to have due to many reasons. The first being that he brings an enormous level of fire to games. When he is determined to intimidate his opponents or to keep his team's zone clear, there is nothing that will throw him off his mission. Emil is also the type of defenseman that decides if he is going to fight with someone, he is going to give the fight all he's got. If I was going to describe Travergard in one word, that word is incredibly clear: power. This skater is a bullet train on skates who doesn't stop until the very last second of the game. Emil is an undying fire on rockets. Every match is more intense than the last and each match is played with more skill than the previous. Another reason that Emil is a stand out defenseman would be that he continues to evolve his game. Not only in an overall aspect, but also with each different team he goes up against. His physical game fluctuates depending upon the aggressiveness of his opponents, but he always maintains a level of physicality that keeps his enemies on their toes. You often hear the term, "My goal is to deny yours," being associated with netminders, but it is perfectly applicable to Emil. Once he is sent out on a shift, Travergard brings an almost impenetrable wall to the defensive zone. If you are wearing the warring colors, be prepared to have the puck ripped from your possession and hear your equipment crack slightly due to the immense force of Emil's check. Speaking along with that, Travergard's power level is absolutely phenomenal. He will spot a player, determine whether he can conduct a clean hit or not, and if it is possible, Emil can drive another skater into the boards with enough force to rattle the bolts that hold the panes of glass together. If you are on the receiving end of a check by Travergard, you better brace yourself for the worst. Quite simply, Emil is perfectly described by the qualities most attributed to the bull. He is unbelievably strong, he is immensely powerful, and he brings a great quantity of rage and ferocity to any roster. If by chance you are a team looking to bring in a fear factor player on to your roster, Emil is the skater for you. Best of luck Emil with the Haninge Anchors and the rest of your hockey career!

Jamie Zaleski Biscuits and Breezers    Welcome back to another blog of Biscuits and Breezers! Today you will be able to meet and get to know FHL Danville Dashers center Jamie Zaleski a little bit better. You don't come across a player very often that is so passionate about the sport that he takes immense pride in every game he plays or every time he represents his team, but today I believe I was able to talk to one of those chosen few. Jamie is an amazing player who beams passion and talent every time he walks onto the ice for a game and when you see him play, I guarantee that by the end of the game you will be as stunned as I was when I first watched a Dashers game. Zaleski is the perfect player seeing that he has the ideal combinations of aggressive and physical plays, speed, and can score whenever it needs be. I have seen some pretty aggressive players in my time but Jamie Zaleski is the definition of aggression out on the ice. His hits are almost always cle
Fight of the Year Biscuits and Breezers        Before I move on to anymore news, I wanted to feature a fight that I think should be up for a fight of the year in the WSHL. This scrap was between a beast from Missoula and a goon from Seattle. That's right Austin Azzinnaro and Piers LaFrance battled it out in Missoula's last home game and it was amazing. You should have seen these two go at it! It was a complete yard sale of mitts, twigs, and buckets, and by the time Auzzie was done with the Totem, LaFrance was thrown out of the rink looking like he had just met Ross "The Boss" Rhea from Goon. Azzinnaro was ejected in pure beauty style; waving to the roaring fans, excited as can be, and pumped for another round. It was an absolutely incredible fight and I have never seen a junior fight go down as sweet as that one did. Not to mention this was Austin's first tilly! He is a born fighter and obviously it comes by him naturally because the skills he ha
