Biscuits and Breezers Player Request: Viktor Steenson            Welcome back to Biscuits and Breezers! I recently had a person request I do a piece on a specific player. Now this person that put in the request will not be named for confidentiality reasons  but I will tell you, of course, who the player is. I work with him very often and he is one of my best clients. Viktor Steenson. Now, I know it might seem that I only concentrate on this particular player because he comes up in my blogs so often, but I promise you all of my clients get the same treatment as everyone else. Every player request is accepted and I try to work them in any way I can. So, with out any more explanation or reasoning let's get to the player already!     Viktor Steenson is 6 ft 1 in, 210 lbs, and is from Vaxjo, Sweden. As you all probably know, he is playing for the Missoula Maulers in the AWHL for the 2012-2013 season. He is doing quite well too. Now I wouldn't describe h
#53/2013 IIHF WJC Blog Biscuits and Breezers World Junior Championships: Day 5        Welcome back to another blog of Biscuits and Breezers! There was four games in Ufa today and some teams' stay in Russia might come to end sooner then they would have thought. Consisting in the total games we had today the pre-regulation games between Slovakia and Germany and the Czech Republic and Latvia. Then we had the big game. A major rivalry between two neighbors. Canada vs. the USA. Then we had a group standings game between Finland and Switzerland. There were some major let downs for some teams, but others grew up and won the next step in survival. All will be revealed momentarily.  I am happy with which teams are still in the running but I just wish once that a smaller team would make it to the top like Team Czech Republic did. Second place in Group A. Maybe Slovakia could move up to prove themselves. I certainly hope so. I definitely like the atmosphere the &quo
#52/ 2013 IIHF WJC Blog Biscuits an Breezers World Junior Championships: Day 4                               Welcome back to another blog of Biscuits and Breezers! This day in the IIHF World Junior Championships we had only 2 games today because most of the teams took the day off to rest and recuperate. But today 4 countries battled it out on the ice. These countries were Russia, Germany, Sweden, and Latvia. It was the first place team in each group facing off against the last place team. Each result of the game was definitely predictable and expected. There really were no upsets or surprises, which could either be a good thing or a bad thing depending on how you look at it. By this time in the tournament you can already pick out the goons, snipers, and grinders. For example you could say example that Ryan Nugent-Hopkins would be a sniper, Rasmus Ristolainen could be a grinder, and  J.C. Lipon could be the goon. This is just in my opinion though you probably
#51/2013 IIHF WJC Blog Biscuits and Breezers World Junior Championships: Day 3                          Welcome back to another blog of Biscuits and Breezers! Today we had 4 games between lower level teams and hockey super powers. We had two MAJOR rivals compete today. Those two teams were Russia vs. the USA. The score was pretty low for what I thought these two teams would accomplish but it is understandable because they were incredibly matched. Another game was between reigning champion Sweden  and underdogs Team Switzerland. Yes these teams might not have been a great pair to go up against but a) it had to happen and b) Switzerland put their best efforts out on the ice. The next game was Canada vs. Slovakia. Slovakia gave a gold medal favorite team quite a scare today trying to gain a tournament spot and knock off some of the big dogs. One of the final games today was Czech Republic vs. Finland. Now this was a big surprise because we know that the Czechs h
#50/2013 IIHF WJC Blog Biscuits and Breezers World Junior Championships: Day 2         Welcome back to another blog of Biscuits and Breezers and Day 2 of the World Junior Championships. I am here to catch you all up on this day's events in Ufa, Russia. Today's games were matches between the USA vs. Germany and Switzerland vs. Latvia. Most of the teams took today off to recuperate and gain their momentum back up again. After both Team Germany and Team Latvia lost their openers yesterday, they have the challenge of facing two new fresh teams with the loss of yesterday hanging above their shoulders. Team USA is extremely determined to reverse what happened last year and win the gold. The same as every other team in this competition. Team Switzerland is particularly strong this year so that is another obstacle in the road to claiming the gold from former champions Team Sweden. Or can Sweden defend it? We will see in the next couple of days.  Now I have the
#49/2013 IIHF WJC Blog Biscuits and Breezers World Junior Championships: Day 1               As we all know, something has come to fill the lockout void in every hockey fan's and player's heart. That would be the 2013 IIHF World Junior Championships in Ufa, Russia. Some of the prospects from the 2012 NHL Entry Draft are competing in this tournament much like they will some day playing in the NHL, some of the players are already in the NHL like Edmonton Oilers star player Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, and some are key players for the 2013 NHL Entry Draft this coming June. This tournament, for North American viewers, has brought the first elite level broadcasted hockey game(s) since the L.A. Kings hoisted the Stanley Cup back in mid-June. We had 4 games played today in the tournament and I am here to catch up all of you who didn't get to see the games. Game 1 was Finland vs. Latvia, Game 2 was Canada vs. Germany, Game 3 was Sweden vs. Czech Republic, and Game 4
#48 Beauty of a logo from the boys (and girl) over in the BHL!                                                                                       BHL Team Blog     This week has been a fantastic week for Biscuits and Breezers! I had the great privilege to work with the Basement Hockey League and quite a lot of the current players! To start off, let me tell you that this is a GREAT league to work with. Fantastic work ethics, great personalities from everyone I talked to, so polite in speaking with me, and all in all just a family atmosphere from everyone involved. How this all started was I got in contact with one of my most frequent clients Johnathan Macklin and we decided that his home-town grown "Beer League" needed more attention and I agreed immensely. This team emerged last year at the Northwestern Classic Tournament in Spokane, and gradually became known as the biggest party team there. But not in a bad way! They were notorious for their locker room pa
#47/Interview Blog Interview Blog              Welcome back to another blog of Biscuits and Breezers! In this blog I have another interview for you! I think that it is pretty exciting! Currently, I am working with  many different players to help them have more exposure to the world in the hopes that they will get moved up somehow in their hockey career. If you remember right, I interviewed Helena Bighorns forward and defenseman Christian Axelsson and John Petersson last blog. This week I have a pair of defensemen from the Junior A Arizona Redhawks. They just happen to be Tyler Lloyd and Travis Cornwell. I have already mentioned Tyler briefly in a past blog and working together with this pair, we decided they both wanted and needed exposure to the hockey world and just get their names out there to expand their horizons! Ok let's get some stats for these guys before we get to the interview!              Travis Cornwell is 5 ft 10 in, 192 in, and is from Little Canada, M
