Biscuits and Breezers

Welcome back to another blog of Biscuits and Breezers! In this blog we will talk about the Oilers' team regrowth and Wild prospect Mario Lucia breaking his leg. Starting off with the Edmonton Oilers. I have recently talked about Taylor Hall's signing and now we have another. This time it's Jordan Eberle's turn. He was just inked to a 6 year $36 million contract extension on Tuesday. With one year left on his entry level contract, this extension will keep him as the new youthful generation of players until the 2018-2019 season. Hopefully with Nail Yakupov, Taylor Hall, Jordan Eberle, and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, they can produce a team almost as good as in the Gretzky era. Just give them a few years and maybe they will rise up and become a main threat again. We will see! Good luck Jordan with the new contract! I am quite excited to see the upcoming team.

Next thing we will talk about is Mario Lucia. He has recently broken his left fibula and received ligament damage to his left ankle when one of his team mates fell on it during a battle drill. As a result he could miss 3 months of his freshman season at Notre Dame. He is also considered a candidate for the USA team that will play at the World Junior Championships. Hopefully he will make a speedy recovery and be able to play before the world junior camp. Even more, hopefully he will be able to play college hockey soon and do very well in school. Rated #10 for the Wild's top prospects, Mario is definitely going to go somewhere with hockey. I hope you have a speedy recovery!

Now, I have one special shout out for you all! Last blog I did a piece on Scandinavian Hockey Consulting. This time its Celly Hockey. I really want to thank you beauts for helping me get so many views and shouting me out on Twitter! If you haven't followed them you need to and they have sick high quality clothing for all of you out there. Go check it out at www.cellyhockey.com if you haven't already! Thank you so much and I hope we can work together in the future! I know I desperately need to get hooked up with some of their awesome shirts and some cool shades, so go beat me to them! Thanks again! Definitely check these beauts out! Maybe they will be as big as Gongshow one day. I am thinking so!

Here we have come to all of your favorite segment, the "Players of Today"! For the prospect player we have 2012 round 3 Montreal Canadiens pick and Kamloops Blazers left wing Tim Bozon. For the Goalie pick we have Glacier Nationals goaltender Tanor Bradison. Then we have for the European pick Frolunda Elitserien and Frederikshavn Denmark net minder Frederik Andersen.

Starting off with the prospect player. Tim Bozon is 6ft. 1in, 183lbs, and is from St. Louis, Missouri, USA. For the 2011-2012 season he had 36 goals in 71 games played, 35 assists, 71 TPs, 40 PIMs, and a +/- of 27. He was drafted round 3 64th overall in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft by the Montreal Canadiens. His father was former St. Louis Blues player Philippe Bozon and he has a younger brother named Kevin Bozon  who is doing quite well in the French hockey leagues. Timothe holds an American, French, and Swiss citizenship which is quite interesting I think. Anyway, he is quite a good player who definitely is concentrated on the ice to both his team and the shift. He comes from a quite a good family of French hockey players. I don't know where he is signed for the 2012-2013 season but he will be a good addition! Also he will be a great addition to the Canadiens. Good luck Timothe in the WHL and in your future hockey career!

Next we have the goalie pick. Tanor is 5ft. 10in, 185lbs, and is from Anchorage, Alaska. Tanor currently plays for the Glacier Nationals in the NORPAC. NORPAC is the Northern Pacific Hockey League. In the 2011-2012 he had 14 games played, 628:27 minutes played, 2 wins, 8 loses, 61 goals against, 5.83 goals against average, 408 saves, and a 0.870 save percentage. Tanor has great glove catches and definitely watches in the ice when he is in the cage. He is signed to the Glacier Nationals for the 2012-2013 season. Good luck Tanor with your netminding and with your future hockey career!

Now, we have the European player. Frederik is 6ft. 4in, 247lbs, and is from Herning, Denmark. For the 2011-2012 season, he had 39 games played, 1.62 goals against average, and a .943 save percentage. Frederik was drafted twice once in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft round 7 #187 overall by the Carolina Hurricanes and again in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft round 3 #87 by the Anaheim Ducks. He will be playing with the Ananheim Ducks for the hopeful 2012-2013 season. Frederik also comes from a great family of Danish hockey players. He is an enormous goaltender and with an amazing reach. He plays a modern style of hockey in the net and is set on winning. Frederik is quite impressive in the cage and will be an absolute improvement with the Ducks. Good luck Frederik in the 2012-2013 season and with your future hockey career!

Fight of the Year Biscuits and Breezers        Before I move on to anymore news, I wanted to feature a fight that I think should be up for a fight of the year in the WSHL. This scrap was between a beast from Missoula and a goon from Seattle. That's right Austin Azzinnaro and Piers LaFrance battled it out in Missoula's last home game and it was amazing. You should have seen these two go at it! It was a complete yard sale of mitts, twigs, and buckets, and by the time Auzzie was done with the Totem, LaFrance was thrown out of the rink looking like he had just met Ross "The Boss" Rhea from Goon. Azzinnaro was ejected in pure beauty style; waving to the roaring fans, excited as can be, and pumped for another round. It was an absolutely incredible fight and I have never seen a junior fight go down as sweet as that one did. Not to mention this was Austin's first tilly! He is a born fighter and obviously it comes by him naturally because the skills he ha
Jamie Zaleski Biscuits and Breezers    Welcome back to another blog of Biscuits and Breezers! Today you will be able to meet and get to know FHL Danville Dashers center Jamie Zaleski a little bit better. You don't come across a player very often that is so passionate about the sport that he takes immense pride in every game he plays or every time he represents his team, but today I believe I was able to talk to one of those chosen few. Jamie is an amazing player who beams passion and talent every time he walks onto the ice for a game and when you see him play, I guarantee that by the end of the game you will be as stunned as I was when I first watched a Dashers game. Zaleski is the perfect player seeing that he has the ideal combinations of aggressive and physical plays, speed, and can score whenever it needs be. I have seen some pretty aggressive players in my time but Jamie Zaleski is the definition of aggression out on the ice. His hits are almost always cle
