Hello and welcome back to another blog of Biscuits and Breezers! I am bringing you a new installment of the Spotlight Player series, and this time, the player is one that is absolutely out of this world. His passion for the game is always well known and he plays every game as if it is his last. This player always puts his best foot forward but at the same doesn't think twice about defending his team or his team mates. Your next Spotlight Player is Las Vegas Storm forward Beau Ricketts!

Beau Ricketts - Las Vegas Storm (F)

Height: 6 ft 1 in Weight: 200 lbs Hometown: Las Vegas, Nevada, USA 2014-2015 Stats: 22 goals in 33 games played, 11 assists, 33 TPs, and 19 PIMs

When watching Beau play, the first thing off the bat that you notice would be how he conducts himself during shifts. Not only is he out there playing with an outstanding amount of confidence, he is playing with a huge heart. When Beau is out on the ice, you can automatically tell that he is almost always doing what's best for his team as well as what will benefit the bench in the long run. Ricketts carries a great sense of intelligence with him and is always taking in as much of the game as possible. He is very in tune to what is being carried out around him and is very quick to adapt to the game's pace. Beau brings a great, strong base line performance to any game but can quickly focus on one aspect (whether that be speed, strength, or skill) that will push his game to the next level. He is very skilled with the biscuit, he has great stickhandling abilities, and has great on-ice vision. In my opinion, every player has something about their own style that is truly one of their most prominent and individual features, and for Beau, this is certainly the passion he has for the sport. Ricketts will go through almost any injury or even a streak of losses if that means that he can continue to play the game that means absolutely everything. Beau almost always puts the needs of the game before his own individual stats. Going along with his extreme passion for the sport, Beau is always playing his shifts as if they are in his last match. Ricketts is an incredibly intense skater who is full force one hundred percent. He has become quite the essential part of the Storm's offense seeing as he is very skilled at pushing the biscuit to where it needs to go as quickly as he can as well as his ability to put the game together like a puzzle. He sees what pieces are there, what pieces are missing, and what the final picture should look like. With one of the final contributions to round off an incredibly impressive style of play, Beau never backs down from a challenge that is set before him. This could be applied in a multitude of ways but more seriously breaking out of the conformity of other skaters, constantly pushing his limits, and blowing past expectations set before him. Beau is an incredibly talented junior player who is a fantastic representation of the talent, the strength, and the respect this level of ice hockey can possess. Wherever he is signed, Beau makes an incredibly positive impact on the community and never fails to make the crowd a part of the team family. It will be very interesting to see what the sport has in store for Ricketts, because at this moment, it is filled with nothing but positivity. Best of luck Beau with the Storm and your future hockey career!

Spotlight Player Emil Travergard       Biscuits and Breezers         Welcome back to another blog for Biscuits and Breezers! This is another post for the Spotlight Player series, and the player featured today, is a prime example of the defensive qualities that are capable in blue liners. Trending on an upward slope, this particular player brings fire to the ice as well as quite the chill. He may be an independent skater, but he is almost always his team's biggest supporter in the long run. The next Spotlight Player is Haninge Anchors defenseman Emil Travergard!     Emil Travergard - Haninge Anchors (D)   Height: 6 ft 2 in  Weight:  215 lbs Hometown: Stockholm, Sweden 2013-2014 Stats: 1 goal in 23 games played, 3 assists, 4 TPs, and 14 PIMs with Hammarby J20         While watching Travergard on the ice during his stay in the WSHL, he certainly brought a spar...
Jamie Zaleski Biscuits and Breezers    Welcome back to another blog of Biscuits and Breezers! Today you will be able to meet and get to know FHL Danville Dashers center Jamie Zaleski a little bit better. You don't come across a player very often that is so passionate about the sport that he takes immense pride in every game he plays or every time he represents his team, but today I believe I was able to talk to one of those chosen few. Jamie is an amazing player who beams passion and talent every time he walks onto the ice for a game and when you see him play, I guarantee that by the end of the game you will be as stunned as I was when I first watched a Dashers game. Zaleski is the perfect player seeing that he has the ideal combinations of aggressive and physical plays, speed, and can score whenever it needs be. I have seen some pretty aggressive players in my time but Jamie Zaleski is the definition of aggression out on the ice. His hits are almost alway...
#3 Biscuits and Breezers Welcome back to Biscuits and Breezers! In this blog, we will be discussing the Washington vs. New York series and the St. Louis vs. Los Angeles series. Starting off with the Washington vs. New York series. With the series now tied at 2-2, Washington Capital’s Captain Alexander Ovechkin and the rest of the Capitals seemed very pleased with the Game 4 win of 3-2. The Rangers are becoming more and more frustrated with the way the series took a turn after Game 3 when the game went into triple overtime, Rangers winning with a goal from Marian Gaborik at 14:41 in the tiring overtime. He made a goal past Capital’s goalie Braden Holtby with a wrist shot of 13 feet. The goal was assisted by Brad Richards and Daniel Giardi.   In Game 4 the Capitals had goals from Captain Alexander Ovechkin; center Nicklas Backstrom, and defenseman Mike Green. Green had previously been out 50 games with a right ankle injury and then an abdominal injury that required surgery. The ...
