On Thin Ice:
A Documentary Following the Road to NCAA Hockey

For a hockey player, the rink becomes home, team mates become your closest family, and a pair of skates is better than any shoes you will ever own. In youth hockey, the sport becomes your lifestyle. Up to the rink at 5:30 AM and back home close to 9 or 10 PM on a good day. In high school/junior hockey, it's all about showing everybody your absolute top game and getting the attention of as many scouts as possible. But what about college hockey? Both male and female skaters are dreaming of competing on the sport's biggest stage under professional teams for some of the largest and rowdiest hockey power houses in the country. Soon, the amazing people over at Champion City Sports/Movies (accompanied by the amazing student film crew from Full Sail University) will be producing an incredible film documenting the path high school and/or junior players are taking in hopes of achieving NCAA status. 5 male and 5 female skaters will be featured in this film as they each choose a separate path in the biggest journey of their athletic career. The film is still in pre-production but operations are soon to be underway and this could possibly change the way the hockey community views collegiate hockey and the journey it takes to achieve the ultimate prize. Along with the documentation of the 10 players, there are interviews planned with multiple coaches, scouts, and NCAA hockey alumni. It is also planned that I will be able to give you all updates and inform you on how the film is coming along, so hopefully that won't change! I am incredibly looking forward to this documentary and so should you! Please check out the information for the film, it will give you a great idea about what you will see being put together in the months to come. Jamie Zaleski Biscuits and Breezers    Welcome back to another blog of Biscuits and Breezers! Today you will be able to meet and get to know FHL Danville Dashers center Jamie Zaleski a little bit better. You don't come across a player very often that is so passionate about the sport that he takes immense pride in every game he plays or every time he represents his team, but today I believe I was able to talk to one of those chosen few. Jamie is an amazing player who beams passion and talent every time he walks onto the ice for a game and when you see him play, I guarantee that by the end of the game you will be as stunned as I was when I first watched a Dashers game. Zaleski is the perfect player seeing that he has the ideal combinations of aggressive and physical plays, speed, and can score whenever it needs be. I have seen some pretty aggressive players in my time but Jamie Zaleski is the definition of aggression out on the ice. His hits are almost alway...
#3 Biscuits and Breezers Welcome back to Biscuits and Breezers! In this blog, we will be discussing the Washington vs. New York series and the St. Louis vs. Los Angeles series. Starting off with the Washington vs. New York series. With the series now tied at 2-2, Washington Capital’s Captain Alexander Ovechkin and the rest of the Capitals seemed very pleased with the Game 4 win of 3-2. The Rangers are becoming more and more frustrated with the way the series took a turn after Game 3 when the game went into triple overtime, Rangers winning with a goal from Marian Gaborik at 14:41 in the tiring overtime. He made a goal past Capital’s goalie Braden Holtby with a wrist shot of 13 feet. The goal was assisted by Brad Richards and Daniel Giardi.   In Game 4 the Capitals had goals from Captain Alexander Ovechkin; center Nicklas Backstrom, and defenseman Mike Green. Green had previously been out 50 games with a right ankle injury and then an abdominal injury that required surgery. The ...
Aurora University Biscuits and Breezers   Welcome back to another blog of Biscuits and Breezers! This article is a continuation of the College Spotlight reviews and this time I will be featuring Aurora University freshman forward Robby (Robert) Gervino! Biscuits and Breezers' College Spotlight Player: Robert Gervino Height: 5 ft 11 in Weight: 180 lbs Hometown: Homer Glen, Illinois, USA When Robert Gervino gets to the rink for game day, it's game face on and head held high, because Gervino knows he will be putting in the best ice minutes he possibly can. When looking at Gervino on the ice or off, that is one of the qualities that becomes most prominent; confidence. He is the type of player who is not afraid to break out of the box and forge his own path. If he wants to play tremendously physical one night and he decides to take on the sniper's role the next, then that is what will happen. Robert defines his own terms and his ow...
