Coach Mike Stanaway         Interview (Credit to New York Jr Aviators) Biscuits and Breezers   Welcome back to another blog of Biscuits and Breezers! In this blog, I had the great opportunity of interviewing the new New York Jr. Aviators coach Mike Stanaway! You probably recognize the name because I have been fortunate enough to work with this amazing coach quite a bit in the past seasons. I interviewed him while he was the coach of the Marquette Royales and I also believe that I worked with him for a short time while he coached for the New Mexico Renegades. Anyway, if you do not know who Coach Stanaway is, he is an absolutely outstanding coach, in my opinion. He can take a team that is below the bottom of the leader board and turn them into a team that is at the top of the stats week after week. He can take a player that is basically a bender and turn him into one that is a super star by mid-season for sure. Stanaway is a great team leader and gives nothing
University of Arizona Biscuits and Breezers   Welcome back to another blog of Biscuits and Breezers! I have your next  College Spotlight Player and this time it is University of Arizona defenseman Tommy Bennett! Biscuits and Breezers' College Spotlight Player: Tommy Bennett Height: 6 ft 1 in Weight: 185 lbs Hometown: Mundlein, IL, USA   Tommy will be a huge asset to U of Arizona this season because he is an absolutely outstanding player. When he was playing juniors for Southern Oregon as well as the Dells Ducks, he was a huge player. His physical game is incredible and he can rattle the boards with no problem. He can score when it is needed and he supports his team 110%. In fact, during his last year of juniors he racked up 118 PIMs along with 13 TPs. He is the type of player that carries his team on his back and will go to the very end for the logo that he proudly represents. Tommy is definitely the type of player that all college teams shoul
#112 Biscuits and Breezers    Hello and welcome back to another blog of Biscuits and Breezers! Usually this would be where I would introduce what leagues I would be giving you updates on, but that particular format isn't quite conforming as I hoped so I am going to switch things up a little bit. First off, I will only be reviewing the NHL and the EIHL (the other leagues will be mentioned so no worries over that). Next off, I will be including final game scores from the junior leagues WSHL, NA3HL, and MnJHL. Some recaps will be thrown in as well. I will still be doing my College Spotlight Players and following a few college programs. My usual interviews and team reviews will always be a constant!! I will be doing quite a bit of work with the Wenatchee Wild and the Wenatchee Wolves U18 teams this season so posts might not be as frequent as they have been in the past. I know this summer has been a period of transition but I think everything is in order, for now,
Northland College            Biscuits and Breezers   Welcome back to another blog of Biscuits and Breezers! Continuing with the College Spotlight Players before their seasons begin, I have another player for you all and this time it is Central Wisconsin Saints goaltender Dax Deadrick! Deadrick has recently committed to Northland College! Biscuits and Breezers' College Spotlight Player: Dax Deadrick Height: 6 ft 0 in Weight: 195 lbs Hometown: Butte, Montana, USA   Dax Deadrick is one of the goaltenders you only see once every few seasons. He is 100% dedicated to the sport and he will tough anything out to be able to rise to the top. His last few seasons of juniors were exponential growing times for his entire game and now going into college hockey, he will fit perfectly. He is incredibly confident between the pipes and will stop at nothing to be able to bring home the win for his team. Deadrick has grown incredibly strong competing in the
Midland University Biscuits and Breezers   Welcome back to another blog of Biscuits and Breezers! As you all know, starting with the 2014-2015 season, I will be following 5 or 6 different college programs/players as they make their way through college puck to give you an insight as to what goes on with college hockey. So far, those skaters will be Sebastian Gronborg, Ben Henry, Rob Donovan, and Taylor McConnell out of Midland University , Joey Sundgren at St. Olaf , Tommy Bennett in University of Arizona , and Dax Deadrick and Chance Creger out of Northland College . Starting now I will be introducing you to your first review! (This first player was highly requested so he will have the first review!)   Biscuits and Breezers' College Spotlight Player :   Sebastian Gronborg Height: 5 ft 9 in Weight: 165 lbs Hometown: Nykoping, Sw
#111 Biscuits and Breezers    Welcome back to another blog of Biscuits and Breezers! It has come to that time of the season where every one involved in the sport is counting down the days until hockey returns. 33 days, 32 days, 31 days. Currently it's 31 days until NHL hockey returns and I personally couldn't be more excited.  As soon as the leaves start to fall it's only a short period of time before the puck drops.  It's been a long hot summer and it's only a matter of time before fans pack themselves into the cold ice rinks ready to watch the best game on Earth. The EIHL has already begun in the UK, the AIHL in Australia just came to a finale, and in less then a month juniors/NHL start. It's returning everyone and soon it will be here. Hockey's back. It's chilling to think that the clock has fewer minutes to tick down than it has ticked off already.  This Month in the NHL: * Former NHL all-star player  Carol
