Getting to know your Maulers Player #3 Sebastian Gronborg Get to know your Maulers Player #3: Sebastian Gronborg   (Credit to Missoula Maulers)  Welcome back to another blog of Meet your Maulers! The next player we have is goaltender #1 Sebastian Gronborg. He is 5 ft 9 in, 165 lbs, and is from Nykoping, Sweden. I am very happy and excited that Sebastian is going to play in Missoula this year because he is an incredibly talented tendy. I have previously written about him and that is all for good reason. His butterflies are amazing, Sebastian has great glove catches, and is very attentive to everything out on the ice. He has great style and form in the net as well. Sebastian and I have been talking for some time ever since he arrived in the USA and getting to know him has been great! It was a pleasure to have an interview with him and I think that this major Rangers fan will be one of the highlights of the 2013-2014 season. As I said before the Maulers hav
#74                                                               Biscuits and Breezers    Welcome back to another blog of Biscuits and Breezers! Finally we have gotten back to just another regular blog! I mean don't get me wrong I love when people ask me to write a blog for them or about their company but it is always such a relief to get back to the original normal routine that I know all of you love. I am breaking up the Meet the Players blogs because I also know that not everyone knows or wants to know about that team and I entertain you all as well because you guys are the best and I wouldn't want to disappoint! A lot has happened since our last blog and there is quite a bit of news to catch up on before we get to the regular season! Yes regular season is almost upon us seeing that it is the last day of September! What we will talk about today is the preseason scores and games, Alexander Ovechkin carrying the Olympic torch, and Kris Letang being out
Getting to know a Mauler Player #2 Corey Schafer Get to know your Maulers: Player #2 Corey Schafer   (Credit to Missoula Maulers) Welcome back to another Meet your Maulers! This next blog will be about #24 forward Corey Schafer. He is a returning veteran of the team when he was playing in the 2011-2012 season but then he played in the NAHL with Wichita Falls and Johnstown last season. Corey is 5 ft 9 in, 185 lbs, and is from Johnstown, Pennsylvania. In the 2011-2012 season, he had 21 goals in 47 games played, 35 assists, 56 TPs, 106 PIMs, and a +/- of 20. He is a very good player and has great qualities both on and off the ice. On the ice he connects with his team mates, scores the goals, racks up assists, and isn't afraid to back down in defense of his team mates or his team. Off the ice he is great with fans, treats them with respect, and generally is a good part of the community. It was a pleasure to speak with him and get to interview him. Here are the que
Getting to know a Mauler: Player #1 Erich Jaeger Get to know your Maulers Player #1 Erich Jaeger (Credit to Missoula Maulers) Recently I agreed to help out the Missoula Maulers and help get their players/team noticed by interviewing each player one by one and help show a personal side to each of them. I decided to start off with rookie and Coeur d'Alene, Idaho native Erich Jaeger. He is forward #18, 6 ft 0 in tall, 170 lbs, and is a '96. In the 2012-2013 season he played for the Compete U-17 and he previously played for the Spokane Jr. Chiefs. It was a pleasure to meet him because Erich is a great guy to get to know and he has a great sense of humor! Without any more delays here are the questions I asked!: 1. What are you most looking forward to this season? EJ: Umm, I am really just looking forward to having fun. I just play hockey for fun. 2. What do you expect to bring to the team this year? EJ: Hopefully a lot of scoring and stuff. I like to play
#73 Biscuits and Breezers      Welcome back to another blog of Biscuits and Breezers! This is a special blog because this is the first time since the Stanley Cup Finals that there is enough news to report on! So in this blog we will be talking about the WSHL preseason tournament, the soon to be first Australian NHL player, and the NHL preseason starting off with the WSHL. For those of you who have never heard of the WSHL it is the Western States Hockey League and consists of teams in Washington, Montana, Idaho, Colorado, Kansas, Utah, Oklahoma, Wyoming, New Mexico, Arizona, Oregon, Texas, and California in the US. This past weekend teams from Seattle, Missoula, Southern Oregon, and Idaho took the ice in McCall, Idaho for a 3 day tournament. The Totems went 0-3 with an unfilled roster, Missoula (new entry to the WSHL) went 1-2 in their inaugural season, Southern Oregon went 2-1, and the 3 time defending Thorne Cup champions Idaho went 3-0 which was no surprise. The Idah
#87 Blog Dedication Biscuits and Breezers        Welcome back to another blog of Biscuits and Breezers! With the uploading of the last blog we reached #87, so in honor of this achievement I have decided to dedicate blog #87 to #87 himself, Sidney Patrick Crosby! We all know him and it comes to personal opinion whether you care for him or not but any hockey fan will tell you that he is the greatest hockey player playing today along with Stamkos, Ovie, St. Louis, and so on. Undoubtedly he is the face of the NHL. We haven't seen much of the original Crosby for the past couple of seasons because of his concussions but I think that will end shortly. With Sid you either love him or hate him and each of those passions run deep but you can never forget what he did for hockey. He brought hockey back to Pittsburgh, he scored Canada's Golden Goal in the 2010 Olympics, he and the Penguins brought the Cup back to Steel Town, he brought fame to a small town Nova Scotia,
Player(s) Profile    Biscuits and Breezers    Welcome back to another blog of Biscuits and Breezers and this is a blog that you will not want to miss! I had the great pleasure to work with a pair of beauts from Michigan. These players would be Royales defenseman Nick DeSimone and forward Robby Gervino. These two are genuine hockey beautys and probably the biggest ones you will ever meet. They have the combined skill on and off the ice. In the 2012-2013 season this pair started off on the Southern Oregon Spartans' roster but following a huge trade Gervino and DeSimone found themselves suiting up as New Mexico Renegades. In Oregon, Nick had 3 goals in 20 games, 2 assists, 5 TPs, and 21 PIMs. Robby recorded 3 goals in 19 games, 7 assists, 10 TPs, and 32 PIMs. After the trade though Robby had 5 goals in 18 games, 11 assists, 16 TPs, and 32 PIMs and Nick racked up 2 goals in 20 games played, 8 assists, 10 TPs, and 30 PIMs. Clearly the trade benefited them both. For a
Biscuits and Breezers        Welcome back to another blog of Biscuits and Breezers! I recently attended a junior league practice and I thought since there isn't much going on in the hockey world right now, this might curb your hunger. The practice was for the WSHL team the Missoula Maulers and I know I write about this team quite a bit and I apologize but they are a very good junior team. They have multiple European contracts every year and they are based in town full of skiing and snowboarding. I find the hockey culture very prominent and deep rooted in the community. Now I am not going to go on and on but I would like to highlight some quality players I saw. One would be goaltender Sebastian Gronborg. First things first this guy can flat out play. He has high hockey IQ and is great between the pipes. He knows when to trust them and when to bring in the pads. I sat in the stands and was amazed at how many shots were saved in a practice alone. This wasn't a game or
