#59 Biscuits and Breezers                   Welcome back to another blog of Biscuits and Breezers! In this episode I would like to talk about an update from the Missoula Maulers and Helena Bighorns in the AWHL and I am going to review the first NHL games of the season! The games I have picked out of many to review are the Pittsburgh Penguins vs. Philadelphia Flyers "Battle for Pennsylvania" game and the St. Louis Blues vs. Detroit Red Wings games. Well first off let me congratulate Patrick Kane of the Chicago Blackhawks for scoring the first goal of the 2013 season! Many rookies finally played their first NHL games and many showed what they had to prove. I am only reviewing two games because to review all 13 games would be very difficult to do and very time consuming. Now, I am not complaining one bit I am just explaining. But, before I get to that I have to talk about my partner teams for a moment. The Missoula Maulers won against the Great Falls America
#58 Biscuits and Breezers                      Welcome back to another blog of Biscuits and Breezers! Well, since the 2013 WJC tournaments are over we can return to the normal blogs again. I am very excited about this because there have been so much news going on! First of all we should talk about the end of the NHL lockout! Yes it is finally over. The NHL and the NHLPA have signed off on the new CBA and camps will officially have started on Sunday. Playing will being on the 19th. I don't want to hit on this too much because I will be reporting on it frequently on Facebook. So if you want to friend or subscribe to me on Facebook at "Biscuit Breezers" you will get updates on the current status of the NHL and the players. I have been posting a lot of things lately about it so make sure to friend/subscribe to me to get those important NHL updates! Well, most of the players and teams are in training camps now and most of them are free and open to the public s
#57/2013 IIHF WJC Blog Biscuits and Breezers Finals Recap       As you have probably already heard, Team USA dethroned former champions Team Sweden to take home the gold. This was majorly unexpected and completely thrilling! These good old American boys deserved it so much. They poured their blood, sweat, and tears into this tournament and they came out victorious. I am actually kind of happy that they won because it seemed that they tried the hardest that they absolutely could and it paid off majorly for them. Unfortunately Sweden is no longer champions but I think that they will fire back very hard next year and could take the title again. I would like to see that or Team Finland. I am unbiased though! Those are just my personal opinions! Sweden will in fact take the silver medal, Russia will take the bronze medal, and Canada will take 4th place. Yes, Russia beat Team Canada 6-5. I believe I mentioned this in my last blog, but this will be Canada's fourth c
#56/2013 IIHF WJC Blog Biscuits and Breezers Semifinals Recap              Welcome back to another blog of Biscuits and Breezers! We have finally reached the semifinals of the 2013 IIHF World Junior Championships! Today we had games against major competitors USA and Canada and also between Sweden and Russia. These were very exciting games because we get to see who will go into the gold medal round and who will battle it out for the bronze medal. I really wish I could have been at these games because it would have been so exciting to see all of the top prospects for this year's and last year's NHL Entry Draft. All the players are working very hard and are passing expectations every one has set for them. They are helping each other get along and move forward. Building a stronger bond than the night or even play before just by stepping out on the ice and working as a family. Family is a key role in this tournament because if you know how your team mat
#55/ 2013 IIHF WJC Blog       Biscuits and Breezers   Quarterfinals Recap                       Welcome back to another blog of Biscuits and Breezers! Yes, we have finally reached the quarterfinals of the 2013 IIHF World Junior Championships! I am very excited to see who will win the medals and who will claim the gold. I think that Sweden or the USA will claim the gold because both teams are very strong coming out of the regular schedule games. Some players to look at as these finals progress are Sebastian Collberg, Niklas Lundstrom, John Gibson, Jacob Trouba, Emil Molin, Victor Rask, Viktor Arvidsson, John Gaudreau, J.T. Miller, and Seth Jones. I am really excited to watch the medal round games just for the fact the recent game scores have been so high and there have been quite a number of shut outs. The stress level has sky rocketed for not only the players but also the fans. A lot of countries have been sent to the relegation rounds and hockey super stars
#54/2013 IIHF WJC Blog        Biscuits and Breezers   World Junior Championships Day 6                Welcome back to another blog of Biscuits and Breezers! Well the group schedule games have come and gone, but now here come the knockout rounds. Yes the regular schedule games were stressful but these games will be EVEN more stressful. These are the rounds that will make or break a team. One loss could end a country's stay in this tournament. Not all teams are involved in these rounds either. Some countries, for example Germany and Latvia, will be battling it out in the relegation rounds for a spot in next year's tournament instead of fighting for the gold. These rounds will be especially stressful for the Swedes as returning champions. Do you think that they will be champions again this year? I can't say who I think will be the champs this year because there are so many strong teams this year. For example you have Team Canada. Team Sweden, Team USA, an
