#32   Biscuits and Breezers          Welcome back to another blog of Biscuits and Breezers! In this blog we will talk about the Oilers' team regrowth and Wild prospect Mario Lucia breaking his leg. Starting off with the Edmonton Oilers. I have recently talked about Taylor Hall's signing and now we have another. This time it's Jordan Eberle's turn. He was just inked to a 6 year $36 million contract extension on Tuesday. With one year left on his entry level contract, this extension will keep him as the new youthful generation of players until the 2018-2019 season. Hopefully with Nail Yakupov, Taylor Hall, Jordan Eberle, and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, they can produce a team almost as good as in the Gretzky era. Just give them a few years and maybe they will rise up and become a main threat again. We will see! Good luck Jordan with the new contract! I am quite excited to see the upcoming team.     Next thing we will talk about is Mario Lucia. He has recently broken
#31    Biscuits and Breezers          Welcome back to another blog of Biscuits and Breezers! In this blog we will be talking about Taylor Hall's new contract with the Oilers and a special segment about one of the best hockey consulting companies that has been associated with this blog. But for now let us move on to the extension. The Edmonton Oilers have just inked one of their star players to a 7 year $42 million contract. Yes, Taylor Hall will be an Oiler for another seven years. Being the Oilers' first pick in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft, he is among the Oilers' top line in remodeling their team alongside Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Jordan Eberle. Then most recently, key player Nail Yakupov. Slowly building their team back up, the Oilers could actually be a threat in future NHL playoffs and in the regular seasons. Watch out they could go from #29 to #1. Back to Taylor. He recently signed a contract that will keep him in Edmonton for much longer. In his mind, this i
#30 Biscuits and Breezers           Welcome back to another blog of Biscuits and Breezers! Sorry beauts I have been away from my computer for awhile! Summer has just been to good to waste! Anyway, have you heard about the impending lockout? Well you probably have, I certainly did. It turns out that if the NHL and the NHLPA don't come to terms by September 15th, lockout. Now, if the two "parties" don't agree on the new CBA, collective bargaining agreement, the players and whole NHL will be locked out. This has happened twice already under the command of Gary Bettman. Once in the 1994-1995 season and in the 2004-2005 season. The difference was though that the '94-'95 season wasn't completely out, they played 48 games instead of 84. The '04-'05 season was locked out indefinitely. The current CBA expires the 15th of September and if things don't happen, we all know what is to come. Players all around the league from different teams, mostly c
#29 Biscuits and Breezers     Welcome back to another blog of Biscuits and Breezers! In this blog we will be talking about New York Rangers right wing Marian Gaborik's progress on his shoulder surgery and Jeff Skinner's contract extension with the Hurricanes. Starting off with Marian Gaborik. As we all know Gaborik had shoulder surgery on June 6th to repair a torn labrum. Basically, the labrum is located by your shoulder socket, it is almost like cartilage that deepens the surface of your shoulder joint. If you got that I am glad I could help clear things up, if you didn't it's ok I admit I am not the greatest at describing the human anatomy sorry if you didn't! Anyway, he had his surgery and it came out that his rehab for his shoulder has been going well. Currently, he has moved from simply riding a bike to lifting weights again. This is very good because shoulder surgeries can be very tricky and if they aren't performed well or something goes wrong, it
#28 Biscuits and Breezers       Welcome back to another blog of Biscuits and Breezers! In this episode we will be talking about Daniel Alfredsson staying with the Senators and the Detroit Red Wings alums add 4 of the 5 players from the Russian 5 to play at the Winter Classic Alumni game. Starting with Daniel Alfredsson. For all you Sens fans out there, Swedish team captain Daniel Alfredsson will be returning for his 17th season with the Senators. Now, the hockey world wasn't sure if he was coming back, but indeed he is. Being captain of one of the 2012 NHL All Star teams and currently the longest serving active captain in the NHL, he is definitely a major influence on the not only the prospects and the younger Senators but also the older players and others in the NHL. I can definitely tell that he will have a lot of space to fill after fellow Swede Nicklas Lidstrom retired but I think that will be for the fans and management to decide! Congrats for coming back and good luck
